Ok, I am a fan of blogging, I like to use it as a source of voicing my thoughts/feelings then deleting b/c it's inner thoughts. But, now I've decided to voice it out loud, to the public and it's not inner thoughts but rather something of valuable to share with either single mommies or mommies on a budget. My blog does not discriminate. I've named it Thrifty Single Mama because well I am a single mama, but that doesnt mean married mommies can't or don't want to be thrifty.
My idea of thrifty is various things, couponing, sales, clearance items.....and thrift/second hand stores. God, how I LOVE thrift stores. They have some terrific bargains. If thrift stores arent you're thing, then skim over that....and read about my other money saving tips. Maybe it's tips you already know, or maybe it's not. Obviously there are only so many tips one can give, so periodically I will post items that are close outs or some of my wonderful bargain finds.
Well, now that you know what this blog will be about I can give a little info on myself. I am a full time student, part time worker and full time mom to a 13 yr old boy and 5 yr old girl. Sometimes it can be hard to bargain shop for the boy rather than the girl. My daughter is easy to shop for, she just loves accessories and clothes, brands are not a priority to her, well for now. Lol. My son on the other hand is a little harder to shop for, he is all about Vans and other skater, Hot Topic wear. Not easy, or cheap. But, there are slight ways to get around the prices, sometimes.
Ok, so it's time for bed time for my class tomorrow and work!! I'll post a few times a week, in the beginning. I have a couple of tips to share now, and those I will post this week, so check back Tues, Thurs, Friday or during the wknd, as I have a bit more flex time during those days.
